Godliness and its simple truth

Apparently sensitive and difficult to anticipate or answer when asked this question – Are you closer to God? Many Christian believers assume their place is indubitably secured with the Lord as they routinely worship Him with their meticulous religious ways and practices. Often people misinterpret the concept of worshiping God as communicating with Him in various requests and petitions by lips on a daily basis. But in reality, living in the Word of God is the perfect way to worship Him. And there is nothing wrong in chanting or talking to God in a personal way as long as our righteousness in the eyes of the Lord is prevailed. As bible has its own story to tell about God’s unconditional love, many are still in their fantasy world, living what is selfish and snobbish while tendering a dream of Godliness which is incomparable to the written words of God. Perhaps, it is not essential for many Christians to live according to the bible rather than their customized rituals and ceremonies prescribed by the humans or they simply try to mix it with the scientific discoveries of this world and justify many truths of bible under human perspective. Yet, these questions remain; Are you a true believer? And how do we recognize ourselves that we are in the Lord and His righteousness?

It has never been easy to find a true believer anytime from the beginning to the present. Bible gives us many clues through the Word of God to recognize those good spirits; as it is difficult to find the real good souls even in the midst of so-called believers. It is written in Luke 6:45, which says “a good man brings up good things out of his good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings out evil out of his heart. For the mouth speaks from the abundance of your heart”. Besides, bible comments that, rivers of living water will flow from within the true believers in John 7:38 – which is true, in terms of living in the spirit. To be precise, if someone is a true believer, he or she will definitely follow the Words of God and live exactly in it without any compromise to the patterns of this world.

Following are the verses from the bible which describes how we know that we are in the Lord. Also it gives real convictions to those who trust him as they seek him diligently.

• Jesus said, those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. (John 14:23)
• If you remain in my love and my words remain in you, and then ask whatever you like, and it will be given to you. This is for my Father’s glory, that you may bear much fruit, showing yourselves as my true disciples. (John 15:7-8)
• If you belong to the Lord, no weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper, and you shall negate every tongue that rises against you. (Isaiah 54:17)
• If you are in the Lord, your hearts will never condemn your deeds on earth as you will be led by the spirit, which is a sign for you. (1 John 3:20)
• My sheep will listen to me and I know them and they follow me. No one will snatch them out of my hand. (John 10:27-28)

It is truly amazing when Lord touch the hearts of His people as they were given the wisdom to unveil the mysteries in the bible. And His unconditional love is the greatest assurance for our salvation and eternal glory as we can feel it once the presence of the Lord is in us. Once again, if we belong to God, we would love Him and will definitely obey His commands – which are the perfect signs of oneness. Godliness is not a myth; it is the divine truth of God manifested in His chosen people for a new beginning and purpose.
